The PTE Academic English language test (PTE-A) is a computer-based test of your English language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. The test is usually three hours long and results can take five working days. Unlike IELTS, the PTE-A often tests two skills together, like listening and reading.
Universities have their own acceptance scores as follows:
Diploma:
- PTE – overall 45; no less than 36
Bachelor:
- PTE – overall 50; no less than 45
Graduate diploma:
- PTE – overall 6.5; no less than 50
Masters:
- PTE – overall 6.5; no less than 50
